Even if you are already familiar with the annual Diabetes Audit process, you will find that many new changes are present for 2008.  Refer to the information below for a brief summary of this year's changes. Use the Quick Start directions for a concise review of the steps involved in performing either a manual or an electronic audit.  

What's new in AUDIT08?

l    New items

      -  There is a new demographic item: the patient’s STATE of residence.

   -  There is a new element concerning documentation of estimated GFR during the audit period.

l    Deleted items  

   -  Community Code has been deleted.

l    Modification of  items/reports

   The “DM Therapy” section contains 2 additional options:

-       Incretin mimetics (Byetta)

-       DPP4 inhibitors (Januvia, Galvus)

The section on urine protein testing has been extensively revised from the previous year’s audit.

                  The reviewer now is asked to specify the type of quantitative urine protein testing

                  performed during the audit period:

(1)   Albumin:Creatinine Ratio (UACR) ----  Provide value in mg/g.

(2)   Protein:Creatinine Ratio (UPCR)   ----  Provide value in mg/g.

(3)   Other quantitative urine protein test

(4)   None

l    The WebAudit

The WebAudit, a set of web-based tools for data entry and reporting, will essentially supplant the Epi Info audit program, providing an easier way of producing reports and a more secure method of transmitting the audit data to DDTP.
